I said a couple months ago while he;ll be a good player, he wont be in the #1 OA pick tier of Stamkos/Sid/Kane/MackInnon/McDavid/Ovy etc. I think he'll be closer to a Hischier or Hall type of #1 pick.

I think he'll be a consistent PPG player putting up between 70-90 points most seasons, but he does have the potential to hit 100 a couple of times in his career. I don't really think P. Kane is the best comparable, I see Hughes as a better, more dynamic player than Barzal though. I have a hard time imagining Hughes being anything less as he has a much better toolbox than Barzal and they play a somewhat similar style.

Do you think any forward, would EVER, be drafted first overall if the GM drafting them didn't think, "you know, this guy could POTENTIALLY score 100 points one year" ?

Peak/potential means, what could his best ever season be, in any realm of possibility? If you don't think a forward drafted 1st overall in this day and age could "possibly, feasibly, even maybe" score 100 points in his best ever season, then why would he be considered the 1st overall pick?

You're just wrong. You think Jordan Staal or Landeskog got drafted 2nd BC the gm thought they had 100 point potential? 100 points is no joke. John Tavares has been in the league 10 years and hasn't hit 90. Although I think Hughes may have 100 point potential, your premises that every top 3 pick has 100 point potential is wrong.

Yes, if they were the most talented payer of their draft class. One draft can have 3 such players, another could have 0. Not very difficult.

By the way, I am not voting until seeing the adult WHC.

Around 90-100 imo.

His goalscoring isn't good enough to eclipse the 100 mark often and he'll very rarely if ever get past 30 goals.

Potential? Close to 100 for sure. More so realistic? I'd say 80-90 or so on average, which is still a hell of a player.

I think Hughes realistic high potential is Nick Backstrom numbers (not talking play style). Consistent 70-80 point guy. Backstrom had 1 season of 100 points in a good year and on a high scoring team. That could happen.

To me it depends on where you think the NHL heads in scoring in the next few years. If scoring stays high like it has or even increases... Yeah he could be a 100+ point guy.

If scoring decreases a little I suspect a regular ~90-95 guy is what he turns into. Essentially I think he'll be a regular Top 10 scorer in the league so whatever the league scoring is like will determine whether that means 90-100 or 100+.

I voted 90-100 since I think league scoring drops a little.
