I think Bouma has the Flames record for blocked shots on 1 year as well.

Good uplifting game. Bouma, Monahan, Galiardi, Colborne, Granlund, Brodie, Reinhart had great games. Nice to see Nieuwendyk get honoured. Youngsters played well. More impressive with the fact that the young players showed up late. Colborne and Monahan were clutch. Hanowski, Reinhart, Granlund, Brodie iced it in the final shift. Wotherspoon played well too.

Also did anyone see Ducks, Pens or Kingston, Oshawa. I caught KIN, OSH before. Sam Bennett is Doug Gilmour. Hope he slips. His work ethic and 200 ft game is elite. Spencer Watson should be looked at. Great speed and offensive creativity. McKeown was just OK. DC didn't play to well. Blow out in KIN favor. ANA, PIT I watched at intermissions and afyer the game. Stempniak's a good fit in PIT. Had a great game. He could be a real underrated pickup at the deadline. The dark horse trade, there's always one. Last year it was Handzus. It was a real good game. PIT in SO

If only the Hitmen won. Also saw a bit of this game. Draisaitl is insane. He's a combo of Big Joe Thorton and Anze Kopitar. Can score, carry his team on his back, plays great 2 way game, makes everyone around him better.

Trading Backlund because Granlund looks ready is D.Sutter like management. There's no reason not to keep both. Switch one to wing or move Stajan to the 4th line. It's an easy fix.

Pretty neat to see the younger players stepping up to win the game. Big difference between Begin scoring meaningless goals and Colborne/Monahan scoring.

Still want a top 3 pick though.

Next year even if we don't get McDavid we'd probably get Eichel who'd be drafted 1st overall 2014, 2012, 2011, maybe 2010. MacKinnon is scary good

That's a big reach there. But Barzal, Hanifin, and Konency also looks like potential franchise players. It's one of the best top 5's in recent memory.

It's been said before but Calgary really, truly, honestly needs to switch to the retros as the primary sweater.

Joe Nieuwendyk, Retro Night, Flames Win = Good Night

I was at the game tonight. It was a good ceremony to honour Joe Nieuwendyk and to have a lot of the '89 Stanley Cup winning team there as well. Stanley was even in the building. Lots of good karma right there.

Good timing by the Flames to have this with the young team now. All the players were wearing #25 in the warm up, nice looking retro jersey. That should be the full time home jersey.

Turned out to be a pretty exciting hockey game too.

Another good game by Joni Ortio, he made some key saves through out the game and the biggest one right at the end when he stopped a point blank shot from the slot. He even got an assist tonight. Second win in 3 starts.

Two goals by Joe Colborne including the winner. He's scored his last 3 goals now from the same spot on the side of the net.

Another goal by Markus Granlund, short handed too. He was on the penalty kill quite a bit tonight as well.

Sean Monanhan with his 19th goal of the season, using his nice hands to drive through the slot and score. He's tied for third on the team now with 29 points and has played 6 games less than Backlund.

Tyler Wotherspoon played good in his first game and had over 11 minutes of ice time.

Good games by Brodie with an assist and Giordano with 2 assists.

Good comeback win and a good team effort again.

Question about the jerseys: Are they the exact same retro jerseys as last year? For whatever reason I thought last years had the string on the neck.

/orders a Granlund
