This pisses me off...we let good talent go wayyy too much. Golyshev, Iskakhov, Wotherspoon (cheaper option for a Mayfield replacement), Burroughs, Ho-Sang and on and on and on.

It looks real...but how much do you put on this as a ploy to play in the NHL?

"This is frustrating and surprising news for the Islanders as Ruslan Iskhakov had been one of the team's better players in the NHL. "

I must have missed this part . . .

Are there any editors still alive in the media?

I don’t blame him. What more can he do to earn a shot in the NHL? Kids been electric in the AHL. We could actually use that

With the rotating door of forwards this year who couldn’t stick in lineup or just straight up failed to make an impact I’m upset he didn’t get a chance.

That’s quite a list of nobodies you’re adding a nobody to to get pissed off about.

His agent basically said he wants to play in NHL and will see how the summer plays out. Why waste your time reading an opinion based on speculation from an outsider? You could be reading mock drafts instead. That's where the true experts reside.

All this is is Dan Milstein posturing for his client. Iskhakov is only 23 and hasn’t played in Russian in over five years.

This is low hanging fruit for Gold Star Hockey.

Leverage is leverage, and it isn't that unreasonable to think that someone who presumably fluent in Russian would be fine in Russia and the KHL.

Dude is 23 and succeeding in the AHL. The GM here is old fashioned and wants to keep players in the A until they're like 30.

Hopefully Iskhakov gives the Isles one final training camp to make the team. Otherwise, he should go to the KHL for his own good next season.

How many shootout loses could have been avoided if he was on the roster this year?
The Kid deserved a Shot, If I was him I would weigh my options also

Yup. Keep Iskhakov as a 3 on 3 & shootout specialist. Just don't play him during regulation.:help:

LOL, you just described about 500 people here I used to debate about Detroit over-marinating their youth . . . All those players made little impact too.

He's in the AHL because he is the ultimate tweener

He's not got a bottom 6 game and that's all he'd get a shot at

If I'm him, I head over to Germany

Couldn’t be that much worse than Gauthier, Whalstrom and Fasching
I am kind of surprised he did not get a sniff this year. Those guys you listed have not been good.

I can’t imagine Lou hanging onto the guy and not playing/trading him if there was any kind of demand for him around the league.

Sure he could. Fasching and Wally at least know how to play in their own end at the NHL level, Isk has to prove that before anything else. His offensive numbers are basically the same as last year but his +/- is well below last year.

Blame Thommer for that.
