Yes, because Ratcliffe and Bunnaman showed the kind of skill suited to wide open hockey!Maybe trying to develop all of them into try-hard grinders is a stupid idea.

Maybe the upside for most of Hextall's picks were try-hard grinders b/c that's what he drafted.
they just dont want to be patient and that's the problem, because of the salary cap and draft rules/lottery its so much harder to get stars, no one wants to understand that. You’ve got to get some big hits & avoid complete early whiffs.
But fans tend to overrate the success rate of draft picks.
That’s why I bristle at the idea of a complete burndown that revolves around trading the good young players you manage to have for picks.
Questionable investment strategy trading good money for scratch off cards.
Of course, as players get old and/or are on expiring contracts, trading them for picks makes more sense.
Am I allowed to take my victory lap now? The last Flyers prospect ranking I ever did here had Ratcliffe 14th. The mainstream opinion had him neck & neck with Farabee/Frost. I posted that we need to trade him ASAP if that really is the consensus.
But this team doesn't have a development problem.Ratcliffe was playing on the first line in the NHL last year while Frost was in the AHL.

everyone attacking the coach, the fo, blow it up etc? is that your definition of understanding?Literally everyone understands this stuff and you just pretend they don't.

In the end, we want Mgt that has a plan, sticks to it, and makes good deals more than poor ones as nit every move will be a win. But as a seller, you SHOULD have leverage. The coach is doing a bad job. The front office is doing a bad job. The way to maximize drafting success is to sell off valuable players to maximize your drafting chances. And yes, we are all aware this mess they've made will take a long time to fix.
Are we supposed to praise people doing a terrible job?
