Didn't realize he's 'already' 34, pretty impressive he still seems to be at the top of his game. Initially thought 'no', but he's been pretty consistent and has the necessary personal hardware, so I changed my vote to 'yes' after a bit of review. A candidate for sure, not a lock but he's got as good a chance as any active starting goalie IMO.

Depends what he does with the rest of his career. He has a Cup, but didn't play a single minute in the playoffs in that Cup run. Twice helped his team to the SCF though. If he wins a Cup as a starter, that might seal it for him.

Candidate yes but this is what is going to make the difference IMO.

Hard to say if he makes it in but has a better case than MAF forsure.

Without a cup I don't see how he's getting in. The only playoffs he didn't play was when the Bruins won the cup and he's choked in every playoff he's played.

You can't call letting in easy goals in crucial moments choking?

That’s straight up rubbish

Boston being a 1 line team throughout Sweeneys gm tenure(before this season) is the reason why they have lost in the playoffs, not Rask.

Rask has elite stats in elimination games

Having good stats isn't the opposite of being a choker.

2010 - Bruins up 3-0 on Flyers in both the series and Game 7 of Round 2, loses 4-3 (on 27 shots)
2013 - Gives up 2 goals in the final minute to lose to the Hawks in Game 6
2014 - Gives up 4 goals on 28 shots in Game 6 and 3 goals on 18 shots in Game 7 against Montreal in Round 2
2017 - Gives up 3 goals on 29 shots against in Game 6 vs. Ottawa in first round, gets caught way out of position on OT winner
2018 - .896 in 4 straight losses vs. Tampa in 2nd Round
2019 - Gives up 4 goals on 20 shots, lets in 2 of 4 shots in the 1st period in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals

Sorry no.

Ummm, yeah he is. The ONLY metric MAF has is the 1 Cup as a starter

Fleury has 1 Cup as a starter (he rode the pine in the other 2 Cup Finals the Pens won), and his stat line in that win is WORSE than all but 1 playoff appearance for Rask

Rask's worst playoff was .906/2.88, Fleury's 1 Cup win was .908/2.61.

Career playoffs its .927/2.18 for Rask vs .912/2.54 for MAF

Vezina:

Rask: 1,2,5
MAF: 4,5

AS-1: Rask 1x, MAF 0
AS-2: Rask 1x, MAF 0

Top 10 GAA:

Rask: 1,1,4,4,7,9,9
MAF: 3,3,8,9

Top 10 SV%:

Rask: 1,1,2,3
MAF: 3,5,6,10

GSAA Top 10:

Rask: 1,2,3,4,7
MAF: 4,5,8

Rask has been a starter for 10 years and Bruins have had ton of games during that time so you will find weaker or bad games from the list. But what about all the big games?

Rask just had 40 saves in elimination game and gave up 1, own goal

How about the game 6 elimination game where Rask gave up 1 goal to force game 7 against Blues?
Is it his fault Boston scored 1 goal in game 7? They scored either 1 or 2 goals in their lossess

How about the Game 7’s against Toronto?
Those weren’t big games.

How about the entire Pens series in the Eastern finals where Rask gave up 2 goals in 4 games with 2 shutouts? Including a shutout in elimination game

Rask is tied for 3rd in most wins in a series clinching game with 10(active goalies)

Most playoff wins in Bruins history.

Best % in history in playoffs at 92.7% with min 75 games...

You better then think Price and King are bunch of garbage

Of course he his. Hes already a good candidate and hes still got few good years ahead of him. 400+ wins, cup, vezina, great regular season and playoff stats will get him in.

If the refs call Perron for hooking Acciari and the Bruins win 2019 in 6 games like they should've, Rask is a cup winner and unanimous Conn Smythe winner. That'd definitely get him in.

His save% and GAA are like remarkably elite over the last 12 years. And he's been more good than bad in the playoffs even if the lasting memories are the three games that kind of sucked (game 7 in 2010 and 2019, the end of game 6 in 2013). He probably should be objectively in but voters are subjective and it'll probably take a cup won as starter to move the needle.
