So in 3 games Austria has 33 shots on goal and 31 goals against. This doesn't seem very good.

They went 0-7 in 1993 (the Forsberg year), with 9 goals for and 83 goals against:
16-0 to Russia
7-0 to Finland
12-2 to the US
20-1 to Sweden
14-2 to Czech Republic and Slovakia*
8-1 to Canada
6-3 to Germany
For comparison: the combined goals against of the next 3 worst teams (Finland, 20 GA; Russia, 20GA; Germany, 37 GA) was less than Japan's. The biggest non-Japanese loss was Finland 11 - Germany 0 (no other game had 10+ goals for one team).
* Czechoslovakia split the day of the game, January 1, 1993; the former Czechoslovakia team played as a unified "Czech Republic and Slovakia" the rest of the tournament.

Austria still may make the Quartefinal so way to early to say.

This just proves that Russia should be at the tournament.
I’m sure that we can all agree that what Russia is doing is wrong but you should ban the teenagers because of it. It’s not like it is their choice or their fault.

I don’t understand what’s the issue with letting the athletes play as ROC or whatever, can’t use flag or anthem, whatever, let the teenagers compete

For some reason I thought Denmark was really bad in 2019 because they didn’t score a goal in the round robin and lost 14-0 to Canada. But they actually held Russia, Czechia, and a strong Swiss team to just 4-0. So yeah this Austria team is by far the worst in recent memory. I’m expecting an easy win for Germany who is the second worst team in the tournament imo

I believe the 98 or 99 Kazakhstan team didn’t even have their own equipment and had to borrow some for the tournament.

Czech is solid this year. Try watching some games other than Canada games.
2004 somehow had both Ukraine and Austria in it... Ukraine went 1 for and 44 against , also a team without much for gear .. player for player much worse than this 2022 Austrian team. Austria in 2004 had Vanek and little else... I submit 2004 as having both the weakest and second weakest team in a 10 team field.
