Hopefully he's back for the Tahoe game and stays healthy. Not much chance of a Norris if he misses 5+ in the short season.

Easily been one of the best Dmen in the league and there is still some room to grow. Few guys are consistantly PPG and solid defensively, its a very rare combo.

Don't think this will be the year, but I would be surprised if Makar doesn't win it at some point.

Hopefully he stays healthy and can make a push for it. Love watching him play.

What I'm really hoping the league does is put more worth into the defensive side of the game for the winner. It's ridiculous the league is heavily weighing offensive output for being the best defenseman. Players like Hughes, Carlson etc are so terrible defensively, that should diminish their offensive prowess significantly.

Ask again if he plays like a Norris calibre defenseman for another 4-5 years and is always upclassed by a lower defenseman having a career year.

I think it does. Carlson didn't win last year, Josi did. Hughes won't sniff the Norris this year despite being PPG. I mean, how many purely "offensive" d-men have won the Norris? Burns?

Pump the brakes a bit. If we're naming Norris favs this early it looks like a race between Petry and Nurse outside the usual suspects (Hedman, Pietrangelo, Josi).

To pick a dark horse, I'll throw out Provorov's name.

Since Makar is not around, I'd also like to point out another Cale in the league.
Cale Klague of the LA Kings. Now normally I wouldn't point out Kings but he's a new guy and he plays clean and he's pretty good too.

Cale Klague everyone.

What the hell lol

Your posts are always so disorienting.

Let’s just pump the brakes on Makar but Nurse is all good?

I dont think Norris should be awarded purely based on your offensive abilities. For me frontrunners are Petry, Hedman and Nurse right now. Theodore is having a hell of season aswell.

I'm saying no. I think a more complete defenseman wins it - as they should.

If you have a problem with something I said feel free to say it. Not just hide behind your screen.

Sure - I think your takes are bad.

5v5, highlighted the categories Makar leads in:

Now please show your work on why we need to "pump our brakes" on Makar, but you are willing to acknowledge Petry and Nurse.

It certainly doesn't seem to be justified by on ice performance.

I could certainly see him winning this year. Helps that the Avs get a lot of attention and coverage too
