Negative, for the most part.
1. The momentum from our streak is halted.
2. We have no major injuries, besides Bolland.
3. Our main contributors, Kessel and JVR, will be tired.
4. The schedule after the break will be hectic.

A few postives though
1. Banged up guys will be rested
2. Struggling players will have a chance to reflect and treat this as a new start.

I can't help but thinking that this Olympic break came at a horrible horrible time for us.

Sure, we will be fully healthy, but we are only a week from that anyway. We have been one of the best teams in the NHL over the last 10 games and even further before that.

So, did this Olympic Break hurt us more then anything?

Why would an Olympic break that every team has to take hurt us?

The momentum we had got halted completely.

We were one of the hottest teams going in, and one of the coldest coming out.

Three games before the Olympics: plus 3 GD. 4 points.
Three games after the Olympics: minus 3 GD. 2 points.

Hardly a gigantic swing. We also happened to play some of our worst hockey of the season before the break (first period against Florida, first period against Vancouver).

It's a fun narrative, but it doesn't really hold much water.

GTA or the UK
Who Is to say that this wouldn't have happened if there was Olympic break?

Fact is this team was due some losses after the winning run they went on before the break.

Momentum isn't "dead". But the season will be "dead" if they get slaughtered on that road trip, which is a real fear right now.

The Olympic break has turned out to be a Leaf killer. 3 disgusting games from them since returning. Kessel and JvR may have lost some confidence with team U.S.A. missing out on a medal!

I'm not sure I can support the NHL going to the Olympics ever again!
