Bure playing with wooden sticks and the equivalent in skates. Today's skates and it's not even close at all.Haha come on, it's certainly close and McDavid is faster.

Being a fan of one player or one team over the other shouldn’t influence a choice here.
How juvenile and pathetic is that?
My favourite team is the Habs so I’m going to make myself look like a complete moron by claiming a B level Habs player is better than an A level player of another team?
and you're wrongMcDavid is the fastest player ever. I am incredibly biased towards the Wings, and Athanasiou can absolutely fly out there, but as biased as I am, McDavid would take him. So no, Miles Wood is not faster than McDavid.
Wood's acceleration is better than McDavid. Just look at how he owned Orlov who is a fast skater. 1 or 2 strides and it was over. McDavid is better NHL player but he isn't faster.A couple of these players can skate almost as fast as 97 in a straight line...but how fast can they get to that top speed.
One end you have a 1000 hp Bugatti Miles Wood
0-100 in 2.9s
The other end you have a Tesla model 6 ludicrous mode
0 to 100 in 2.4s
It doesn't matter how fast you skate , because McDavid is the fastest accelerating player in hockey history. By the time Miles Wood picks up speed McDavid is gone. Nobody accelerates like Connor McDavid.
He is the most efficient skater in the modern NHL. He doesn't power through his strides, uses angle, momentum, quickness and pure skating intelligence to blow by people in an instant. Coupke with that bow legged stride very similar to Mike Gartner.
A hockey rink is only 85 by 200 or whatever it is. Connor McDavid owns that space. It's his domain and everyone on the ice adjusts their style to try prevent him from making them look silly. Miles Wood would be just like any other fast skater. Get blown away every shift he goes out against 97.
In 30 years no one is going to care if Miles Wood somehow was able to skate with McDavid in a straight line, they would know 97 was the fastest hockey player that ever played.
Just stop with these bullshxx threads and polls now.

Or can you not see that?
[mod] No Woods isn't faster then McDavid. Just stop man. No one out accelerates Connor McDavid.
If you actually look at the pylon setup in the AHL and NHL it is a big difference coming out of the corner. It's pretty evident. In the NHL Greco won't be Puting up 13.25. Fast mofo though.
Bruh, didn't you see the video @illpucks posted? Wood once skated faster in a straight line, with a head start, to a puck that he had the inside track on, than Dmitry Orlov. I mean, if once beating Orlov in a race to a loose puck isn't irrefutable, concrete proof of being the fastest skater ever, then what is?

Sorry to burst your bubble

No, Miles Wood is not faster than McDavid. He does however have a name far better suited for the adult entertainment industry than Connor does.
I mean, when you're that good looking....I can't believe somebody actually made a Miles Wood tribute.
But yes, he's faster than McDavid in a sprint.
Kapanen is faster than McDavid.
Understatement of the yearAt least skating straight line McDavid isn't that fast, agility he has though.
It's from McDavid's first year. But that poster was saying McDavid has best acceleration in history which is not true. If anything it would be Ovi based on that chart.clearly BS.
a poor skater like tavares faster than mcdavid?
