If he can do it for another season, sure. Many star players have a big season then don't repeat. So wait and see. But this is his first PPG+ season after falling well short in his first 3 seasons, so I don't think it's wise to jump the gun or you may be disappointed. Pretty good chance he can stay a PPG player, though. Which would put him in Matthews/Eichel/Laine level (who have all put a PPG or very close in 2 of their first 2 or 3 seasons in the NHL), but still has a lot more to prove to be considered at McDavid's level, who's been a PPG+ player since his rookie season, winning the Art Ross, Hart and Ted Lindsay in just his 2nd (and first full) season as a 19 year old, while being in contention for the Art Ross and possibly Ted Lindsay again this season. Pretty impressive for his first two full seasons at age 19 and 20.
