Matthews has surpassed Laine in being an elite goal scorer along time ago. The Toronto media hardly brought up the Matthews vs Laine "rivalry" which never happened and was only talked about since both were 1st and 2nd overall in the 2016 draft.
LOL this is one of the more flakey topics on here. Scores goals at a higher clip than anyone else not named Ovechkin but because he is not getting a goal every other game and instead has multi goal games and scoring droughts he is "streaky" and somehow inferior to players who do not score as much even though all goal scorers are like this....HF magic.
