LA Kings Legends Series - Andy Murray - LA Kings Insider

Very good interview. Twas fun to hear Andy talking about the Frenzy on Figueroa and some of the big moments during his tenure.

Also a great tribute to the fans for cheering the Kings and booing the Ducks during games in Anaheim

After 1993, that was the lone highlight we got to enjoy, until 2012. Andy Murray got a raw deal given that he never had a full lineup after 2002, and he had to coach a team that was composed of scraps and spare parts until he was fired.

I blame a large part of that on Lie-weekly.
Guys like Trent Klatt, Eric Assmussen, an injured Anson Carter and Martin Straka, etc

Andy did a lot with very little

Pretty sure it was his second best statistical season of his career so whatever he was the Kings got more than what they could reasonably have expected.

He had a good thing going playing on a line with Luc Robitaille and Derek Armstrong. Palffy was out most of the season (and that would be his last year with the team), Stumpel was a complete dud his second stint here, Straka got injured, and so the de facto top line became Robitaille-Armstrong-Klatt.

That was also the year of the Cechmanek. Things didn't get any better the following year after the lockout. Murray had to deal with the Roenick fiasco, that piece of shit Sean Avery, losing 2/3 of the top line due to injuries, which I believe both occurred at the Olympics.

Klatt was also the only guy to play 82 games that season.

Third on the team in goals (second highest total in his career)
Third on the team in points (second highest total in his career)

Playing 16 minutes a game.

There's such a valid list of bums brought into LA that were misrepresented or underperformed.

Trent Klatt is nowhere near that list.
