Let's not make excuses here. Kopitar admitted he was completely healthy. And Justin Williams, not the biggest or the youngest guy had the worst injury and was one of our best players.

Injuries are not an excuse. Quick was inconsistent against Chicago, Regehr was awful against Chicago, Kopitar was invisible for almost 3 rounds, Brown invisible for 2 rounds, and the Kings got 3 goals from the bottom 6 forwards.

I do not see anyone here making excuses. It's just interesting to see what these guys play through.

Is that why he had so many problems playing the puck?

No, he had so many problems playing the puck because he is Robyn Regehr ;) But I'm sure that doesn't help!

The Dingo suffered a slight butt cheek injury when he landed on a fork jumping up after Richards goal.

My remote suffered a concussion when I threw it into the ground for the same reason. Also, it fell apart. Career ending injury.

Kopi didn't say "completely healthy", he said "no significant injury" that would require surgery, not exactly the same thing ... I'm sure his sprained knee still wasn't at 100% as we know he wore the brace for protection still, and I'm sure he had his share of bumps and bruises and was banged up a bit as was every guy playing still at this stage of the playoffs.

So was an INJURY to blame for Kopi's poor offensive production, NO ... and to Kopitar's credit he admits to this much. Sometimes you just can't accomplish what you want to do, and sometimes you have to also credit the opposition for keying on Kopitar and not allowing him the time or space to do those things also. The Blues, Sharks and Hawks were as much a reason Kopitar couldn't put up the numbers as it was Kopi simply couldn't over come his slump.

People will rag on Kopi and complain about his slumps in production, but they do that every year it seems with him, and yet at the end of the season he's always right there at about a PPG player despite it all, and I'm sure will return to form or be better next season. Don't count this Kid out yet, like I've seen some already doing. :shakehead

How about Willie Mitchell. Any current info on his knee injury? Will he be back on the Kings roster come opening day?
Lombardi was asked about that on the conference call posted on LA Kings Insider. I believe it was toward the end. He said something like (paraphrasing), "Mitchell is making progress, but it's the same 'progress' that was made before his setbacks." So it doesn't sound like there's any real news.

Not there, but here

Well, I kinda took what Kopi said a little differently than most everyone did. He said he hadn't suffered any injuries (meaning no new ones) I think that knee that he previously injured was still giving him problems.
Surprised to hear abt Mr. Dependable (JW) being hurt. He played so hard all this season, p/o's included. Regehr, Brown hurt, these guys gave it their all and I have nothing but respect, pride, and love for this team. Going to miss them for the next 3 months.

Robyn Regehr will have surgery for an arm injury per Sutter today.

Two things he said that stuck out were that he aid RR was the 'first' to have surgery and said some o fthe players were still getting their 'medicals' . That after each one had completed that they would address the guys that needed 'specific work' and 'specialists'

Also, He said RR played with a bad arm for the whole playoffs. Which given how physical he is , had to hurt and esp what a brutal series the Blues series was. When asked if he felt others would need surgery he said "Yup"

So I guess maybe the list might grow.
