Toews

Kopitar will be in 2nd place if he doesn't bounce back this season.

Price, Lundqvist, Rinne, Rask, Bobrovsky or any other goaltender earning over $7M that I might have forgotten about.

Schneider at $6M or Holtby at $6.1M is the most I would pay a goaltender.

Price at $10.5M is potentially the most overpaid player in the NHL. An elite goaltender like Holtby is making $4.4M less than him. Get an average NHL starter at $4-5M and use that extra $5-6M to get a top-4 defense man or top-6 forward. Get an elite goaltender for $6M, and use that extra $4M to put toward depth.

Price is easily worth 10.5 million. He's carried a bottom five team to multiple divison titles.

Without Price, Montreal is a bottom 5 team. With Price they just won the division. I would argue Price is underpaid, and is the most valuable player in the NHL. I think people overestimate the "talent" on the Habs.

In value over what he should be paid, I'd guess Bobby Ryan.

In percentage terms it would be Dan Girardi, who is infinitely overpaid.

As a Flames fan, right now I would have to say Troy Brouwer who will be taking home $4.5 mil per season until the end of the 2019-2020 season.

Last year: 13 G / 12 A

Rick Nash has a 7.8M per cap hit, is making 8M in salary and has had two consecutive sub 40 point seasons.

Last season was his first real "down year", so I would not be surprised if he's not mentioned in here a whole lot.

Last year was his first down year for raw production.

He's been fried butt at even strength for a long time.

Bobby Ryan's output sucks for what he's getting paid to do, Parise's numbers are declining and he'll carry and 7.538M per cap hit until he's into his 40's.

There's quite a few bad contracts.

Well yes, but Philadelphia is one of the best teams at getting powerplay opportunities so he can still be very effective.
