I caught part of game last night on the radio. Early in period 3, it was 3-0. The Ads just stopped playing on defense. They had 10, 12 and 16 shots on goal in the respective periods. Later in the period, there were a few disagreements and the Ads always ended up short handed, results in goals 5 and 6 being on the PP. (Dononvan was serving a minor when goal 5 was scored at 10:56 of period 3). After that goal, things immediately degenerated on the ice.
Aaron Simms was confused by the penalty calls. Six 10 minute misconducts were handed out from 10:56 to 11:56 of period 3. Gaudet had a minor for roughing at 10:56 and got the misconduct while he was in the penalty box at 11:31. He apparently told the officials what a bad job they were doing. You need to read the game summary yourself on theAHL.com. It is just too hard to explain!
This was the second game in a row that the Ads were shut out, which hasn't happened in years. The previous game, the Ads beat Chicago 7-2. The Ads are 0-17 on the PP over 4 games as per the video.
I was watching a little of the FB video from about 4 minutes remaining period 2, when the score was 1-0. Bartkowski crosschecks Trenin to the ice from behind, then hits him 3 more times with his stick while Trenin is down on the ice and nothing was called. No wonder Gaudet was so unhappy!
