The 'A' looks good on Nico
That OT winner was terrific, his 2nd of the season. Niemi left him very little to shoot at but he nailed it. I think Niemi was even surprised Nico found any daylight to thread that puck up top. Not to mention the regulation goal to help get us to OT in the first place.
I like that they are trusting the youngsters more in general during overtime. Injuries obviously forced the issue but it's good to see these flashes of excellence under pressure.
Blackwood was good too, Nico seemed to agree. "Like the way he plays, he's really calm back there," Hischier said. "He gives a lot of momentum for us. He makes huge saves when we need it. It's always good to know as a player if you have a goalie back in the net that's ready to play."
