Each of Canada, Sweden and Russia would be the best team in the NHL over an 82 game season.

A team of Liiga players just knocked off all of them.

Crazy stuff. Miracle on Ice 2.0.

As a Swede I feel embarrassed. Perhaps 2-3 Finns, AT THE VERY MOST, would've made the Swedish roster. Yet they beat us.... :/

I was not impressed with Canada or Reinhart. Stone and Murray looked good.

Amazing what the Finns have been accomplishing internationally.

Also John Denver being a thing in hockey lately is a little weird.

There's been a narrative here that we couldn't beat Russia or Canada because our non-NHL players just can't score on goalies like Vasi and Murray. Doesn't seem to be a problem for Finland though, so I'm inclined to just blame bad luck like always

This has sort of become a B tournament in terms of North American interest, but man you can really see how huge this is in Finland. Awesome story, the Finns just know how to win.

On another note, seems Jack is in full offseason mode now, getting some much deserved down time. He's been posting insta stories living it up in Greece with Hanifin.
