Speculation: If William Nylander walks, should the Leafs sign Steven Stamkos on a 2 year deal?

No chance MLSE lets him walk.
Treliving will sign him for whatever it takes, but he's not walking.

But as a hypothetical, if he did leave no, not interested in Stamkos. The cap space freed from Willie leaving (and likely Klingberg as well) should be directed entirely toward solidifying the blueline.

Instead of signing Stamkos, the Leafs need some help on the blue line, a dman to play with Rielly or even an upgrade on Rielly

No thanks, he isn't that good, especially in the playoffs

He's lucky to be carried by the best playoff core in the NHL. We all know that isn't the same situation as in Toronto

If Toronto is unable to sign him and he's going to walk they should trade him. I'm never a fan of letting players like him walk without anything to show for it. Nylander is a top player in the NHL and Toronto could solidify their blueline trading him. You don't allow a player of his status walk away for nothing.

Keep those who shows up in the playoffs and trade those who don’t for upgraded D and a netminder if need be.
