Kane's is more impressive for me, no one else was on his level that year.
What would you consider demolishing his peers? He won the scoring title by 11% last year and likely will win back to back scoring titles by age 21.Impressive is demolishing your peers. McDavid isn't doing that (yet).
Lazy to check. Is mcdavid even 1st in ppg?
Huh?so i don't get it oiler fans. Is Draisaitl good or not?
you can't have it both ways.
Drai is good. What does it have to do with McDavid being the best player in the world?so i don't get it oiler fans. Is Draisaitl good or not?
you can't have it both ways.
Well we will always have last year.I mean, you were pretty much in the same place without him.
Huh?
>McDavid has no support.
>Draisaitl is an elite player.

To be fair, I don't think the issue with the Oilers is a lack of top end talent. RNH and Draisaitl are both really good and spend a good amount of minutes with McDavid. The issues are just with everything else. That's one reason for why McDavid's ES production has continued to be strong despite being on a bad team, the Oilers can at least make 1 good line. They just can't make anything beyond that.
Who is their 4th best player after those 3? Lucic? Strome? Not exactly many great choices.
Demolishing your peers is certainly not winning the Art Ross by 3 points. What would you consider demolishing his peers? He won the scoring title by 11% last year and likely will win back to back scoring titles by age 21.

He hasn’t won the Art Ross by 3 points though. The season isn’t over; maybe he wins it by 8-10. That’s pretty unlikely but he’s absolutely on fire right now while Kucherov has seemingly cooled off. Again, what would constitute demolishing his peers? Would a 10 point lead suffice? 20? 30?Demolishing your peers is certainly not winning the Art Ross by 3 points.
I know the season is not over, but that also means he might not win it. 10 points sure. Not sure if I'd call it "demolishing" but it would definitely be very impressive. I think what this chart demonstrates is that if he wins it, the most impressive aspect will be that he's done it two years in a row.
It's certainly very impressive, but he's also been playing with no pressure all year. The hype around the Oilers died down almost immediately with their bad start, and then they realistically had no chance at coming back to get a playoff spot by the time January rolled around.
good point. McDavid was 20th in scoring back when the Oilers had a shot at the playoffs. Since the time they had no realistic chance at postseason McDavid has been on fire.
