Kovalchuk won't make the Hall of Fame because he was a selfish cherrypicker whose play was a part of why his team was never good and wound up moving.

How soon we forget that he lead his team to the 2012 finals while suffering from a herniated disk.
From 2003-2012 he was the 2nd or at worst 3rd best LW in the game (behind only a generational talent)
He was given generational talent ice time to post 80 point seasons on a bottom feeder that allowed him to do whatever he wanted to, even though he was getting eaten alive defensively.

1)Ilya Kovalchuk is probably better than 25% of the players in the hall at least. Staal would certainly not be the worst guy to in the hall either... but I would indeed say heatley and nash have little to no chance.Ideally none of these players should be considered HOF calibre - but hockey has the weakest of the HOFs, so you never know.
