If any of these 4 Goal-Scorers were to make the Hall of Fame one day, who would they be?

Which Ones will get in?

These guys have 3 things in common:
1. Came in consecutive drafts (2000-2003)
2. First Forward or Skater drafted in their Respective drafts.
3. Were very good at putting the puck in the net.
(Ovechkin would be on this list as well if it was 00-04.)

Discuss which ones you picked and why in the replies!

Note: I know Eric Staal is a Center, but he has been a very good goal scorer over his career.

Kovalchuk should be a HOFer but probably won't get in because of his rep.

I hope this isn't the case but it might very well be.

He has a very good case for the HHOF, much better than a handfull of wingers since expansion that have gotten in with much much worse resumes.

Staal the only one for me. Has the longest career ahead of him yet (5 years probably) and 974 points already. If he averges even 17 goals a season over that time he will reach 500 by 39. Probably sooner.

So say 500 goals 1100 points in this era plus a Cup. Hard to say he will not be a HOFer from this generation of players. Almost a reverse Lanny McDonald in terms of career progression and he is very close to him stats wise already (3x top ten goals compare to 4x, both two seasons in top ten poi nts)

Kovalchuk or Heatley. It's amazing however how quickly Heatley's name disappeared and I don't mean any disrespect saying that.

People talking about how Staal might hit 500 goals and 1100 points don't seem to realize that:

1. This is the "Hockey Hall of Fame" not the "NHL Hall of Fame."
2. Kovalchuk would've smashed the numbers of #1 if he played in the NHL, not that it matters.
3. If you look at their peaks, Kovy is easily the best.

Its like you dont even have to watch the games anymore. All ya gotta do is look at stats. International play... forget about it! Playoff performances who cares! Defensive play? Whatever. Penalty kill! Whats that? Legacy in markets.... Doesnt matter. Leadership... f*** it. You can read his hockey db. Thats all the matters...

Kovalchuk should be a lock, if not first ballot.

Staal has an outside shot but seems unlikely. Only one 100 point season (in one of the highest scoring seasons in the modern era), no personal hardware, only one Cup. Career stats are good but not enough to get him in alone.

Nash has a chance too, but probably smaller than Staal. More personal hardware and a bigger "name", but the career numbers and overall success just aren't there.

Heatley should have no chance whatsoever.

All three are more "Hall of Very Good" to me.
