In the army as our very first shooting practice they made us shoot unloaded shots with the assault rifle with a coin balanced on its side on the sights to get the 'squeeze, don't pull' going. If you couldn't do ten in a row without dropping the coin, the rehearsal continued until morale improved.

In my opinion it was okay.

I'm more of a "Parking Wars" fan to be honest. Especially the Philadelphia episodes.

last night I was driving home from my mother-in-law's house and right as I got to our street a police cruiser blocked the intersection and sat there with its sirens blasting. it wasn't more than about 30 seconds before the cruiser turned and went south to help another cruiser escort two ambulances through all the intersections on Church St.

I now know they were carrying victims of the shooting on the Danforth in Greektown. disturbing American reality starting to land on the shores of Toronto. I'm on the Danforth all the time having dinner and enjoying ouzo. it could easily have been me in the restaurant that was shot up. it's sobering to think about.

I'm on the west side of the city. Don't really find myself around Greektown that often but the area is such a staple for what Toronto represents - community driven, inclusive of all cultural backgrounds but still distinctly proud of it's heritage. It really does put it into perspective that if it can happen there it really can happen anywhere.

We know he ran all night and day, we also know that the best marathon runners can complete the full 26 mile course in about 2:05. We can safely determine that, knowing that it is unlikely that he ran for more then one day based off of his stated testimony, he was somewhere within 300 miles of his starting point.
