There are a couple of ponds on our farm, but the land slopes down so on one side of the pond, you are mowing on the side of a hill (with the pond being on the downhill side). If you've ever driven a zero turn mower, you can't go down a steep hill (unless you are going perfectly straight and have room at the bottom of the hill) as you lose all control if you do. And when mowing across a slope, the front wheels, which are casters provide no help and the mower wants to go down the hill. Usually I'm careful with it and go slow in that spot, but one time, in a hurry, it started going down the hill into the pond and there was no stopping it. It wasn't very deep and I was able to pull the mower out and it was just fine, but I'm sure it will happen again in the future. When the grass is wet is when it's the worst.

I used to mow around several ponds at a college I worked at and never wore the seatbelt for that very reason.

Love to receive a diploma creased to **** to cap off my education

I would 100% copy the Postal Service and the University Registrar on an email and explain how the one is going to pay the other for a replacement, with that image as an attachment.

Not even kidding, I'd get petty as **** over something like that.

I don’t know who to blame, but I’m sure not paying $40 for something I have ZERO control over. Hell, I would have picked it up myself if I had the option as I just knew this would happen. The fact the extra dollar (or whatever it is) wasn’t spent to keep it from being able to be creased just pisses me off after the price of tuition and “fees” get jacked up every year

AFAIC the postal service had a package worth $40 that very clearly said "DO NOT FOLD" and decided to fold it over. That means they owe you $40.

Hopefully it was an insured package and the claim will be easy. Even if it's not, seriously, this is a case where you raise hell with management if necessary because the package was so obviously mistreated by a careless worker. It's not your job to insure your mail so the postal worker doesn't set it on fire or put it through a shredder.

At the time I graduated, you had the option of having your diploma framed and sent to you in the frame. I did it partially because I was sure this would happen. Of course, it is a very expensive box...

As far as I can tell, that wasn’t an option. I did purchase a frame through their business partner but the only way to receive the Bachelors diploma is through the mail

I agree with tarheel. I would be as petty as the Carolina Panthers twitter account.

@Lempo I've come to a conclusion that those reasonably-priced socket sets are just fine if you replace the smaller ratchets with quality ones. I have my 1/4" and 3/8" sets from Biltema but I swapped the ratchets to Stahlwille 72 teeth versions.

As far as 1/2" ratchets go, I only use this one now:

Good quality for a reasonable price, and that telescopic feature is just gold.

@DaJackal, I have let big boys tell me online that the 10-y guaranteed Biltema sets are unsurpassed in price-to-quality ratio due to the Swedish shenanigans of Biltema having their labeled stuff actually manufactured by Kamasa Tools.

The big 100 euro set apparently is insane value.

Agreed. You can also increase the durability of those ratchets if you take off those little screws, apply some Loctite and screw them back. If you don't do this, they will loosen by themselves and the ratchet disassembles itself rather quickly.

Okay guys I need some vacation suggestions. It will be in July and the wife is very far along in her pregnancy... therefore must be in drivable distance. Cruises and flights are oot.

Usually like activities but having a hard time coming up with ones she can partake.
Do her and yourself a favor and take a "stay-cation". Relax, sleep and enjoy the time alone before all those things go bye-bye.

I feel your pain. My wife is due towards the end of summer as well and we can't find much to do besides pool and beach.

Have you spent time in Asheville before? Lots of great places to eat, if you want to spend the money can stay at the Grove Park Inn and be pampered in the spa, lots of artsy things to do in the town, and some cool drives for scenery, etc.. Might be a bit of a drive (4 hours) for someone very far along in pregnancy though.

It's been at least 10 years since I was on Asheville that might be fun. I'll have to look into the spa....could be cool.

I would also be up for something like a drive to somewhere in SC then further south....maybe even to in Florida. Any suggestions that way? Atlanta? Charleston? Savanaa?

Any specific hotels/resteraunts?
