Hey I know there's a lot of Charlotte folk on here and wanted to ask for recommendations if anyone is up for it. We're in Charlotte for the day tomorrow and was wondering what's good to eat downtown (or not) for dinner. Specifically something with a vegetarian option would be ideal.
Also anything one *has* to see when visiting Charlotte? Had mixed ideas so far from people here in Raleigh; we went to the Mint Museum and IKEA but nothing else.
Two things to see if you haven't. One is the NASCAR HOF. Even if you are like me and you don't give two ***** about NASCAR, it's still IMO worth a visit. The other is the Levine Museum of the New South. Very interesting history museum if you're into American history post Civil War.
As far as dining, well you've got all kinds of options but if you want a good Vegatarian option, theres a place in the Dilworth neighborhood right next to the East/West Blvd light rail station called
Living Kitchen that I hear is very good. If you want to stick with Uptown, you might like
The Capital Grille, which is a pretty good steakhouse. I think they have some Vegetarian options but I'm not sure, only went once for a graduation but I seem to recall they had at least one non-meat main course. They're pretty expensive though from what I remember, but then again thats kind of to be expected of a steakhouse.
I think the Knights are in town this weekend. I actually went to my first game at the new ballpark recently, awesome stadium with incredible views of the skyline.
Edit: Upon further investigation I have discovered that
The Capital Grille is actually a chain. There's one in North Hills apparently.
