I keep walking into these *******s while breathing in natures yellow dust, I've given up cleaning my car for probably the rest of month.

Other than that, Spring time is nice :handclap: Also the Masters apparently just started and I'm going to visit family in Augusta this weekend.

Pollen season is the worst but I love when you can see your foot prints in the driveway.

Our neighbors have a tree that hangs over our driveway, right where I park my car, so I have pollen and bird **** all over it. That just gives me even more reason to move this summer.

I'm trying to remember what league it was our old goalie, Zach, was recommending for me. Basically said that I can hang in lower C in Cary/Garner but I'd be a very solid player in the other lower C division. Just can't remember which one it is for the life of me.

probably ice plex, much more space to work with and the quality of play is slightly lower overall since a lot of the guys there are straight out of their learn to play program

Thanks. Yeah I'm going to start putting feelers out for teams there since it seems like it will still be a while before the Morrisville rink is open and that's a good bit closer to me then Cary and especially Garner are.

HJ summed up Iceplex pretty well relative to the other rinks - there is a pretty big jump in skill between the Lower C leagues and the Inter C/BC leagues. I play in 4/6 leagues there (I know, way over committed) and enjoy it quite a bit. The facility is nicer than garner/cary imo, but the downside (if you see it as one) is the larger ice. You get used to it pretty quickly.

Always teams looking for extra guys, so shouldn't be too hard to find one.

the larger ice is kind of fun

defense is nearly impossible to play in any traditional sense because of how easy breakouts are so it kind of just turns into breakaways and 2 on 1s back and forth the whole time when you get to upper C/BC with most teams putting their best skaters on D

So my goal for this year is to get my back healthy enough to try to play again. I went skating for the first time in over a decade last year and felt like a fawn taking it's first steps. If I can swallow my pride, are there any adult skating camps worth trying to attend?

Again, can only really speak for iceplex since that's the only rink I play at. They have an adult learn to play class every Thursday night for 75 minutes that starts usually at 7:15 or 9:15. Usually work on skating/hockey fundamentals the first 45 min then scrimmage the last 30 min. Group skill usually ranges from first time skaters - immediate level or guys getting back into it.

A few of us actually just set up an advanced skills class that debuts for the first time next Thursday that we are going to try to push to become a regular thing. Designed to be a practice/drill session for those that are experienced and want an environment not focusing on fundamentals.

The adult "learn to play" program at Ice House is a pretty good option in that situation. It's marketed toward newbies, but most of the drills are one-size-fits all stuff like Russian circles and stickhandling around cones. Back when I went threw it there were a handful of guys who had obviously played before and were just working on their skating. Also, it's pay-by-session so you can drop in and out pretty easily if you don't need a full course.

There are also power skating classes there, but I don't know enough about them to comment.

Thanks guys, I'll check it out. My buddy plays (or played) in some of the C leagues (I think iceplex and garner) and really wants me out there.

Kyle Schwarber out for the year. Sorry, Cubs fans.

God damnit. I was watching the video at work and told my buddy it looked more like his knee than his ankle. We're deep enough to handle it, but it certainly hurts.

(wrong thread btw)

That feeling when you're in a meeting and your phone beeps, but not only did you forget to turn the volume off, you also forgot that the other day when you got drunk, you changed your notification tone to this classic Homer Simpson line:

So I flew back from Asia today and the flight into RDU was quite an adventure with the wind. The pilot had to abort the landing on his first attempt (which with the turbulence, caused a couple of people to use the "barg bag"). 2nd attempt was successful, but a rough landing to say the least. I later found out that an earlier flight couldn't land and had to be re-routed to Wash DC, so glad to have been able to land.
