197 - Marek Kvapil - picked at 163 (34 places higher)
198 - Nathan Gerbe - picked at 142 (56 places higher)
3 players picked higher than in the NHL, 11 picked lower than in the NHL, 1 at the same and 1 from the 2003 draft.
Also Lascek who I picked last year was drafted by TB at 133rd
Marjamäki who re-entered was picked by NYI at 144th. Now he gets to play with Bergenheim. I like it.
Megalinsky picked by Ottawa at 186th, one of few teams drafting Russians. A good organisation for Megalinsky..
A very good draft for me..
DAY ONE: Two top line forwards, two good defensemen and a solid goalie prospect. Mikus and Starkov might have been slight reaches, but I like the potential that they have and went for two little risky picks.
DAY TWO: Skill, potential and a mix of euros and NA-players. Two midgets in Russell and Gerbe, but both are intresting prospects with good potential. Volkov is an overager at 22 years who is doing great in Russia and if he is signed he probably could make the league right away.
