How would you rate the refereeing in the new KHL season?

I'm sure you can name that CEO or owner, can you? I mean they surely have names, haven't they? Your bull****ing about alleged Russian corruption is getting a little tiresome without any proves that could support your claims.

It was told by a poster on biggest Finnish hockey site, the poster is in fact a KHL fan and said he's seen about 20-30 SKA homes games in person over the last couple of seasons and has witnessed the home team getting favored by the refs numerous times. And would you really expect Rönn to name that person? There is a chance he told about on Finnish radio back in the Fall when he was on one show.

Jääkiekkolehti is just about the most trusted hockey publication in Finland and it's main writer has won the hockey journalist of the year award several times. If they falsified statements, then they'd be in major trouble with Finnish media authorities. He's on twitter, feel free to ask him about Medvedev's comments: https://twitter.com/jpmikola

Yes, I am expect exactly this. Why not? Or he's also corrupt referee? :sarcasm: He also should report that incident right to disciplinary committee of KHL or KHL Refereeing Department.

Being most trusted in Finland doesn't sound too convincing to me if all that they could give is nothing more than empty rumors and speculations. At best it's on the level of tabloid journalism.

You cant expect that only by frequent repeating something it will be taken for granted without any proves. You literally didn't give a single example that could support your claims. Seriously nothing more than rumors and speculations.

Considering the linesmen told him if he wanted to referee in the league, he should do what told, so it was natural he didn't want to get himself out of a job.

The comment from Medvedev was also referenced in this article: http://www.iltalehti.fi/khl/2015031219341641_jr.shtml

KHL:n entinen puheenjohtaja Aleksandr Medvedev totesi viime keväänä, että erotuomaritoimintaan vaikuttanutta korruptiota on pystytty vähentämään. Ei siis poistamaan.

He's surely a good example of Finland's being one of the least corrupt country.:sarcasm: Veeeery trustworthy guy.:naughty:

Yep, it's kind of nailed it. It's one of most glaring examples of incompetent journalism that I've ever seen. Bunch of second hand rumors that were combined together to give very tendentious impression to people who aren't familiar with KHL. Are all Finnish press that biased?

Medvedev's get constantly mixed everywhere so grabbing on to that one is really irrelevant.

It's not like people haven't constantly mixed up the Jokinens, Granlunds or Ruutus on this site.

The Iltalehti article was based on personal experiences of the coaches/players. Note that this papers is the one that's written the most about Jokerit games in Finland and in a very positive note and their reporter was the one that got to interview Shalaaev.

Iltaleht/Sanomat actually hated Jokerit first, tried to get every one along. When they realized Jokerit is so popular, they started to write positively to get more views / sold papers.

Not sure about corruption in KHL. It is russia, so there might be some, but Jokerit didin't really lose due to corruption. Nowhere near that.

Iltalehti was neutral from the beginning, Iltasanomat still have their issues due to Harkimo's senanigans. Which is sort of ironic since Pekka Jalonen carried a huge grudge against Jokerit for well over a decade, rumoured to be a result of an altercation with Summanen.

Very bad. Especially against Putin Teams reffing turns to horrible. Oh well Ska and Cska can pay big money to refs.

Jari Kurri and Jokerit just made official complaint about referees and especially against corrupt teams. Let's see what KHL officials answer to this complaint.

They should ban especially 22 Anisimov. He whistles all games against big teams and he always ****s up and big teams benefits...

Also Sports.ru has criticized KHL referees earlier on Monday but for some reason the article has been removed. :handclap: And KHL is now having a meeting about what to do with Erkka Westerlund because he also said that this **** happens always against big KHL teams.

Nothing to see here, just Russia things. You can't just go and criticize great comrades referees who just want teams from the motherland to win like that. Kick everyone to gulag. Because what's next? Non-Russian team winning the KHL? Can't have that. Good thing KHL got rid of that pesky Lev too.

IMO reffing has been good. I've seen a few bad calls, but then the refs give the other team a make up call. And for Jokerit fans think of game in MNK, several penalties went against Jokerit in the 3rd period, game was tied and then MNK given a penalty with a minute left (seemed like make up call) - Jokerit scores and wins in regulation. Game fairly reffed IMO.

One game doesn't balance things to even when we see the top teams getting away with stuff so often. Jokerit has taken penalties they deserved but the top teams getaway with theirs so often. It's not even play rink. But that's Russia. Gummibears always don't go even.

KHL probably gives Erkka and Kurri fines as they publicly criticize their refs.

Against SKA four refs didn't see that the puck came out of the glass and they were standing next to that situation. Result: Jokerit 2min for delaying the game

Againsta CSKA Kapanen hits opponent with hight stick. Ref was backwards and he didn't even see that situation but he raised automaticly his hand for 2minutes. Ok, right call but I guess Putin called that penalty during the game

Season 14/15 playoffs against CSKA. Ossi gets 5+20min for nothing. Jokerit has lead but lost in OT. Not so great call by Putin. :shakehead

And there is many more examples especially against foreidners versus big teams

World class refereeing in today's Kuznya - Minsk game. The refs didn't call a single penalty until 55th minute of the game, and the missed calls included a giant boarding against Dynamo :shakehead

LOL, though Jokerit fans here are a pretty whiny bunch, even I feel for them after what would be the biggest, most obvious tripping in the history of hockey wasn't called  a Torpedo defenseman lifted a Jokerit player's foot so high he almost did a frontflip
