There is no way the Oilers move LD. They are very high on him.

How does this line-up fit under the salary cap again?

Chara - 6.9 Hamilton - 6.0 (he's probably getting more)

Krug - 3.4 Franson - 5.0 (reportedly turned down a 4.5 million offer from the Leafs before the deadline)

Seidenberg - 4.0 - Miller - 800k

Trotman - 600k

Rask - 7.0

Back-up at 1.0

That's nearly 35 million, or half their cap space on 7 D and two G. Leaving 35 million for at minimum 13 forwards.

Lucic - 6.0 - Backes - 4.5 - Pastrnak - 0.925
Marchand 4.5 - Bergeron - 6.5 - Oshie - 4.175
Bouma(RFA - 2.0) - Spooner(RFA) - 1.25 - Clutterbuck - 2.75

38.425 million

Close but no cigar. And some of those numbers like Bouma, Matthias, Hamilton and Spooner are on the low end of what I expect they will get.

I can see Edmonton moving LD, with Connor coming and RNH already in the ranks. Chiarelli is going to want to add at least one two-way center somewhere in his top 9; that's the model he built at Ottawa and at Boston. No room for that with Connor, LD, RNH. LD is the most likely to go.

But a former 3rd overall pic for Subban and Kelly... uhm.
