How the hell did Craig Adams play 951 games in the NHL?

which also explains why he scratched skill players like Jussi Jokinen and Petr Sykora in the playoffs in favor of Adams.

In a cap league your 4th line is typically garbage. This guy's coaches just preferred keeping the same garbage around rather than rotating new garbage in and out all the time. And I mean there's something to be said for that. If you gotta play guys who're not great hockey players you may as well keep the guy around with whom you know exactly how he can't play hockey rather than bringing in some new guy whose ineptitude is full of surprises.

OP:

It's very simple. Once you start playing in the NHL it's very, very, very hard to stop. All you need to do is play an average game and be nice to the media and you punch your ticket until you're done physically. There are no standards, there is no requirement for excellence. Period.

If Stanley Cups measures the players skill and value, he would be in the same category as Crosby, Datsyuk, Sakic, Lemieux and Peter Forsberg. :sarcasm:

You need to know the expert geniuses who tells that Cups are the deal to make to NHL TOP 100 :cough:

Some people, like Adams are at the right place at the right time. He got 2 cups which extended his play in the NHL, otherwise he wouldn't have made it past 400 games.

I'm not so sure. Thorburn has 748 games under his belt, 11 years in the league. never hit 20 points. One could argue it has something to do with his fighting skills, but he really can't fight. Maybe it's just his willingness to fight, or be the team designated pugilist.
