20+.

Send a message that he needs to curtail his violent style of hitting.

And before the "LOL just remove bodychecking from hockey then" crowd chimes in, note how it's Wilson that's constantly under scrutiny for these hits. There are dozens of guys who register around 200 hits per season, but those guys aren't constantly throwing borderline hits.

he knew what he was about to do, and he knew what he did. multiple times a year. fighting has its place and so does hitting. wilson is a goon.

Since you asked what I want to see and not what he’ll get, kicked out of the league because a guy who has zero regard for safety or not giving other players head trauma isn’t one who should be in the league. He’s 24 and pretty overdue for a harsh suspension so I doubt it’s about whether it’s an honest mistake or if he cares at this point.

That hit is exactly what everyone wants out of the game. To do it in an exhibition game is just .... beyond dumbass. I don't look back at Scott Stevens nearly killing people with nostalgia, more like concerned head shaking. Paul Kariya was never the same.

Considering he has a in-person hearing, minimum six games by default.

And LOL to "kicked out the league" voters...

The p***yfication of the league continues...

Personally, I'd like to see something in the 15-20 game range. More so than the the number of games, I hope they sit down with him and tell him point blank that this it. Any more head shots, "questionable" illegal hits, etc, that he is done for the season. Suspensions/fines don't seem to be a deterrent for him. Maybe the realization that his career is on the line might be enough to wake him up.

What I expect is like 8 games and for another "incident" to happen somewhere around the halfway mark of the season.

I'd like to see 0 because the NHL has gone soft but he will get 5+

it's funny to me the people crying about this hit are the same people that LOVED watching Scott Stevens hit Eric Lindros or Ron Francis or Paul Kariya remember this call?

"OFF THE FLOOR ON THE BOARD!!!!!!!!"

Remember that? I will NEVER forget it it's a classic call and the reason for it was because of an AMAZING hit

I'm thinking somewhere between 5-10.

I think Wilson is more than just a goon, but it's impossible to defend this. Especially in pre-season. Under 5 games would be a joke, and much more that 10 is a decision to "send a message" or "make an example" and I don't think the league is going to do that.

He *should* be suspended till the end of his career, because that's the direction this is going anyway, and it's senseless to sacrifice more players just to have him do the inevitable.

Realistically I'm hoping for something in the 8-10 game range so that the next one after this can be The Hammer.

the game check of the suspended player should go towards the "victim" of the hit.

and Wilson should get 18-22 games to get his attention. The single-digit suspensions have done him no good.

It's fantastic that Paul Kariya can't even remember that game and will probably die an early death because of it.

What a soft world where we can't kill our heroes.
