Both teams have to play both games so seems fair to me. They’re professionals and more importantly the players and league want to finish their business as quickly as possible within reason, and neither team obviously has to travel. It’s quite a mundane thing to complain about.

The game was gross because the Islanders play a style of hockey that is boring. It just makes it look like both teams are out of gas.
I'm honestly ready for this season to be over and couldn't care less who wins.

Didn't see many Tampa fans complaining when it happened to the Islanders (and they had to fly from Toronto to Edmonton). It's life and a 7 game series. If that's your excuse for losing the series: you were never going to win in the first place.

All of the back to backs throughout the entire playoffs saved less than a week. They were a horrible idea, and have resulted in some of the worst hockey of the playoffs.
The back to backs are not unfair, they're just dumb and have made these playoffs worse than they needed to be.

Well in 2 weeks it’ll be all over and then there wont be hockey for another 4 months or so and that’s assuming the next season even starts. Enjoy it while you can I guess.
The quality of play has definitely dipped as players are injured, but this happens every postseason. The back-to-backs are not why. The NHL postseason is just longer than hockey players can play at 100%. If anything the quality held up a little longer this year as guys had an offseason before it began.

Although I disagree with the general point that back-to-backs are an issue, both sides signed on off this. Plus the little meaningless protest did not help things.

If they had to play tonight after Tampa just went to overtime against New York and Dallas was well rested that would not be fair. The fact that it’s game 4 and 5 means there is no advantage one way or the other

Who cares. Players play the game and walk back to hotel that is 5 minutes away. Sleep and get up and play the next day. No travel involved. Not a big deal.
I'm sure the players want to get this done asap also.
