So whom from the current roster should make the Hall of Fame? I think Toews, Kane, Hossa, and Keith are pretty much shoe ins. Who else has a chance? The next closest, IMO, are Sharp and Seabrooks. What do you think they would need to do to get in? Anyone else have a chance in your opinion?

Nothing they can do, there is no HOF for them w/o a paid admission.

What does that even mean? I always see you posting in backwards ass riddles and whatnot. Just say what you actually mean.

ya toews, kane, hossa, keith and the next one that has potential to would be Saad but time will tell...crazy that JT and Kaner are soooo young still.....

sharp and sea brook as mentioned above will get invites to the inductions (I was at one it was a wicked experience) of the others but they will have to pay to get in otherwise...

Toews Kane Keith, Hossa, Quenneville and then it's a .001% chance but if the Hawks somehow rattled off 3-4 more cups (not happening) maybe Crawford.

No one else has a shot.

Smythe's excluded, i hope the lack of individual hardware doesn't keep Toews and Kane out. Unlikely, but still

Richards has no chance.

Timonen is sort of interesting. His best year was 5th in Norris voting, his candidacy would be based mostly on a solid NHL career and a fantastic international career- 4 Olympic medals in 5 Olympic games. That's 20 years worth of OG. I don't think it's enough but he's on the list.

I would argue Duncan Keith is the biggest shoe-in in the NHL other than Jagr, Ovechkin and Crosby.

Quenneville doesn't need to be mentioned, that's obvious.

All Keith has to do is keep up solid numbers for the rest of his career and he's in.

Kane and Toews are early-middle in their careers still, but at this rate should make it. Two players that completely flip a franchise around and are as successful don't come around that often.

Hossa is a tough one. I used to think no, but am starting to think he'll make it. He has the numbers, the success, and the legacy as probably the strongest 2-way player in the league for quite some time. We'll see.

Seabrook I think someday will have his number retired by the Blackhawks, but will not make the HoF. That is, if he keeps his numbers up and stays here over time. He's been hugely pivotal to Hawks history and scored a buttload of massive goals.

19, 88, 2, and 7 all hang in the rafters of the UC someday. Hossa's a maybe since he hasn't spent a lot of his career here.

Smythe's excluded, i hope the lack of individual hardware doesn't keep Toews and Kane out. Unlikely, but still

You could argue that Smythes are the only truly important hardware. Along with Cups of course.

The more interesting question is: who gets their jersey retired in the UC rafters from the current Hawks?

19, 88, 2 obviously... but do you retire 7, 10 and 4? What about 50?

19, 88, 2, and I'm going to go out on a limb and call 72 a possibility.

Anything is possible but teams don't take retiring numbers lightly. I know he is talented but lets cool our jets for a second with the retiring of 72. This is an original 6 team and we only have 7 numbers retired.

Here is a list of current numbers retired.

Tony Esposito #35 November 20, 1988
Glenn Hall #1 November 20, 1988
Bobby Hull #9 December 18, 1983
Keith Magnuson #3 November 12, 2008
Stan Mikita #21 October 19, 1980
Pierre Pilote #3 November 12, 2008
Denis Savard #18 March 19, 1998

For years, I had to put up with people in the history section denigrating many of my old favorite players simply because of their offensive numbers.

Guys like Henri Richard and Dave Keon, rated very highly because they were outstanding and I can attest to that. But people tend to glaze over their numbers(And the fact that the Selke did not exist for much of their careers and that they only came in 4th for the Hart on a few occasions) and declare they did not deserve to be ahead of Trottier or Yzerman, etc

Then a perfect modern comparable finally materializes. Toews
