It's weird watching preseason games that count. Happy for the points, I think the framework looks really good and the D looks even better than expected, but the rust is apparent and Samsonov isn't quite sharp yet. I don't think we've observed anything that isn't basically a preseason "concern" that generally irons out so far.

I think it's the fact that Joe B and Locker are working remotely and can't see everything, but man the lack of energy in the booth was palpable.

Jensen's strong play from the end of last season has definitely carried over. Glad they didn't trade him away, even when it seemed like he was the odd one out. It's nice to know that he can probably step up into the 2RD role as needed, especially when protecting a lead.

We got some things to tighten up, but the Sabres deserve some credit. They have a lot of quick strike firepower. Gonna get to know them real well since we play them 3 more times over a little more than a week.
