I consider Hasek an easy one to... He had the greatest goaltending peak in history IMO.

Yeah I don't think anyone can disagree with that.

But Hasek does have a significant weakness and it's longevity. He had 11 highly productive NHL seasons. Patrick Roy had 19 in the same era.

JMO but any significant weakness matters a lot at these heights.

JMO but any significant weakness matters a lot at these heights.

The biggest weakness for Roy is that Hasek won 6 Vezinas in 8 years when their careers overlapped. He also has more 1st ASTs. If it was 1 or 2 seasons I'd understand, but 8 years of careers overlapping is more than enough of a sample size to see who's better. The fact that Roy didn't have to deal with the iron curtain and got to enter the NHL early doesn't mean much when Hasek was clearly better than him for the next decade.
