ANNOUNCEMENT: Every team is now able to trade with some limitations.

Usually with the playoffs, HFVHL waits until the conference finals for teams to start trading and playoffs teams aren't allowed to trade.

With the unusual circumstances with the timing of the playoffs and draft; all teams are allowed to trade, but the teams that are currently in the playoffs aren't allowed to trade their players that are currently playing. That's the only restriction.

Weyl and I will release the buyout rules by the end of the long weekend, so watch out for that.

ANNOUCEMENT: Compliance Buyout Rules.

The poll has concluded that there will be a grace period for all trade clauses during the buyout period (79% in favour)

The compliance buyout will take place a day after the draft ends and will last a full week. Each team will be given one compliance buyout to use on a player/goalie.

All players that are being bought out must be placed on waivers for a 24 hr period. If claimed, the team that has claimed the player will be responsible for the full contract.

Teams can't buyout the retained contract made on a player as per the NHL CBA Article 50.5(e)(iii) "(iii)Prohibition on Transfers of Payroll Room. A Club may not sell, assign, trade, transfer or otherwise hypothecate its Payroll Room (including, without limitation, by trading a Cap Advantage Recapture charge or obligations pursuant to a Retained Salary Transaction),".

As retained cap made by a team is not allowed to be bought out, the commissioners have decided it will be unfair to allow the buyout on retained contracts all together.

Players that are bought out are not allowed to be re-sign with the original team that bought them out until the 2021/22 season.
