Alright y'all,

The poll that was taken in February for the evaluation of the league's scoring, contracts, ect has prompted us to make a few changes.

Change #1) Unsigned players don't count towards the roster count anymore.
Change #2) Free compliance buyout for every team in the league. The buyout period will be in between the draft and free agency and it will be a short time period. (more details will come as we get closer)
Change #3) Goalie scoring decrease
Change #4) Defensemen scoring increase

HFVHL commissioners have created another poll and we want your input about how much of an impact scoring for defensemen and goalies should have. I've attached a spreadsheet from the 2017-18 NHL season with the HFVHL scoring system as a comparison you can use to make your decision.

For people who don't want to look in the spreadsheet, here are the top 10 players/goalies in the forwards, defensemen and goalie category.

We are also proposing a grace period for trade clauses within the buyout period, we are needing a 60% vote in favor for to implement this grace period.

Below is the link to the poll, please take 5 minutes to fill this out. The deadline will be a week from today, September 3rd 11:59PM PST.

HFVHL OFF SEASON CHANGES

We will be making the rule changes before the entry draft, so everyone is aware of the changes.

Last thing, we have a short time frame between the playoffs and the entry draft. As tradition HFVHL completes the entry draft before the NHLs, and we want to keep that alive.

We will be starting the entry draft halfway through the conference finals. This complicates things as the draft order isn't set. By the time we hit the last few picks of the first round, pick 28/29 should be determined as we'll be in the Stanley Cup finals by then.

GMs in the finals will send a one person list to the commissioner and if the draft picks are different then the selection will be made. If the GM's picks are the same and they refuse to change then we'll have to wait for the draft order to be established. There will be no clock implemented unless we fall behind.

The draft order will be posted after the 2nd round has ended. Trades will be allowed for teams that aren't in the playoffs after the 2nd round has ended.
