COLORADO DOES THE DOUGIE
:coyotes / :avs
To ARI: Jake Muzzin, Tyler Ennis (50% retained)
To COL: Dougie Hamilton, Darren Helm
*Colorado is not on Darren Helm's 10 team no-trade clause*
This is a big one, I think Hamilton is going to have a nice bounceback year, and have a really productive career, Leaning towards Colorado on this

KICKING THE MULE
:devils / :kings
To NJD: Mirco Mueller, 2020 LAK 5th
To LAK: Dan Girardi (50% retained)
*Dan Girardi waives his NTC for LA*
Girardi is dreadful, but still, not sure what to think of this.

YOU MUST BE JOKINEN
:habs / :ducks

To MTL: ANA 2020 1st, Reilly Smith, Valentin Zykov, Brayden Burke, Tyler Steenbergen, Ty Ronning
To ANA: Brendan Gallagher, Dylan Strome, Jussi Jokinen
*MTL is not on Reilly Smith's 8 team NTC*
Holy hell, what a big trade.
I think ANA did great in the deal, Gally still pretty young, gets you points and heart and soul guy, will be counted on.
Strome seemed to find his way in Chicago, has big potential to break out eventually.
MTL gets a nice 1st rounder and a solid player in smith, and a solid amount of prospects.
I really like this for anaheim tho

On a somber note, the Detroit Red Wings have traded captain Robert Bortuzzo away to the Boston Bruins. We would like to thank Robert for his service and we wish him all the best in his playoff run. We hope there is a future for him in Detroit later on as he was loved by many.

On another note we have named Niklas Kronwall as the new captain of the team

KANE SHINES BRIGHT
:stars / :habs
To DAL: Patrick Kane (5 years 50% retained), Nikita Gusev
To MTL: Sam Steel, Julien Gauthier, Conor Timmins, Nicolas Meloche, Felix Sandstrom, 2020 ANA 2nd
Holy mother, I did not expect kane to get traded.
i think it's a fair deal for both teams looking to clearly do two seperate directions.
Timmins should be good, same with steel, but Kane is a superstar and will be for awhile longer.
Leaning towards Dallas here

I think that's about it, Nice TDL.
Disappointing I could not get anything done, had a few good discussions tho, onto next year.
Rather not do anything hasty.

Frustrating day for Arizona as we probably inquired on close to 20 players but couldn't find a good fit. We made a lot of moves leading up to the deadline and that really backed us into a corner both cap- and roster-wise, so that really restricted what we could do today. Hopefully the earlier moves set us up well enough for the playoffs.

Also, I managed to process a good chunk of the trades from today but there are still a few left to go. Those + the waiver claim from earlier will be put through tomorrow.

Most important trade for the Blue Jackets was probably Lindberg getting traded in real life. Two assists and he has suddenly become a 1C :D

Feel sorry for Brannstrom though. He will score 50 points per year for 7 years without even getting close to playing a play-off game.

Since the agents had more pressing matters leading up to the trade deadline, some contracts have yet to be posted. Any players who agreed to contracts before the trade deadline will still be eligible for the playoffs. Regardless of the posting date, the signings will be backdated to the appropriate date.
