Because the best part of this is the satisfaction of knowing you screwed the guy under you.

Anyways, here’s where I got screwed:

19) Reginald McDunlop - Julien Gauthier - Dammit.
20) Joey McMoss - Kieffer Bellows - Dammit.
22) Dnicks - Max Jones - Like seriously? Flashbacks to last year.

37) Dnicks - Cam Dineen - So badly wanted…
40) McDoused - Lucas Johansen - Dammit.
42) Raab - Samuel Girard - You had sent me a list, so I was prepared to be crushed.
43) Soli - Taylor Raddysh

100) Mozes - Henrik Borgstrom - Dammit.
101) belair - Simon Stransky - Seriously? Dammit. BTW, you’re Round 5 pick is excellent

Chicago is proud to select from the Merritt Centennials Colin Grannary.

I may have been the only guy in this mock draft to see him. Enjoy the highlight video of what I consider a 7th round steal.

With the 209th pick in the draft, Tampa selects, from Russia, Nikolai Chebykin

:bolts

1 (19) Julien Gauthier RW 6'4" 225 lbs. (Val-d'Or, QMJHL)
-A lot is said about his limitations in terms of consistency and pick distribution but the fact remains he can put the puck in the net. This is valuable to any team, especially one with the potential to lose a lot of goals this summer depending on how free agency works out. I was also impressed with his mobility and physicality at the WJCs.

2 (44) Jordan Kyrou C 6'0" 179 lbs. (Sarnia, OHL)
-Only scratching the surface of his potential. Seems to be a center with a wide range of skills that can contribute even when not scoring. Very impressive at the u18s.

2 (49) Dennis Cholowski LD 6'1" 165 lbs. (Chilliwack, BCHL)
-Excellent skating and raw skills. In the middle of a significant growth spurt, but even now shows an impressive all around game. Has been rocketing up the scouting lists since the winter. Potentially tremendous value at this position.

3 (79) Zach Sawchenko G 6'1" 179 lbs. (Moose Jaw, WHL)
-While TB has good goaltending depth at the Pro level, they lack any real junior prospects in the system at this position. I've been impressed with Sawchenko's athleticism and ability to take away the bottom of the net each time I've watched him. Put up very good numbers while often facing a ton of shots. Hoping in real life this is someone the Oilers look at with one of their picks at the bottom half of the 3rd.

4 (109) Maxime Fortier C/RW 5'10" 176 lbs. (Halifax, QMJHL)
-Happy to get Fortier at this spot, even if I was hoping for Filip Berglund and then Sambrook before they were taken (both great picks in this round, though unfortunately not by me). Fits the mold of a TB player with great speed, skill and finishing ability. Carried the Moosehead offense once Meier was traded and put up similar numbers to Laberge. Could very well be underrated in both this and the real draft.

5 (139) Dylan Coghlan RD 6'3" 187 lbs. (Tri-City, WHL)
-Smooth skating rugged Dman, working on improving transition game.

6 (169) Ondrej Najman C 6'1" 187 lbs. (HC Dukla Jihlava, Czech U20)
-Very strong junior league and u18 numbers reflecting a poor man's Tomas Hertl, happy to take a flier on him at this point in the draft, especially after Beck "Be My" Malenstyn was picked a few spots ago.

7 (199) Linus Weissbach LW 5'9" 154 lbs. (Frolunda HC, SHL)
-Gamebreaking speed and solid J20 numbers make him a worthy flier this late in the draft. Described by Lowetide poster and Swedish prospect aficionado Swedishposter as being in the top 5 of the entire draft in terms of skating, he fits in well with the TB philosophy of speed and skill, no matter the size of the player.

7 (209) Nikolai Chebykin C/LW 6'3" 209 lbs. (HK MVD Balashikha, MHL)
-Overager in the Russian junior league put up Bogdan-like numbers and has great size, good feet and the ability to put the puck in the net. Given Tampa's success with Russians he fits in well to their prospect pool. Hoping for a Ziyat Paigin situation here.

Thanks for the great draft all!

Next GM has been notified.

Great job guys, this was a lot of fun. Just a reminder, Zaddy Zads, Heavy McHitter and I have compiled a consensus ranking based on our own personal rankings. If you are interested, some time following the conclusion of the Memorial Cup, we will put out a final ranking(shooting for top 100). I will require a top 125, with a short write-up on each player. Send me a PM if you are interested, and I will send a PM back when we are ready to compile the lists.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know of a website that breaks down the picks from the draft into categories such as league they came from, nationality, position, overages, etc.?

I really found that there seem to be an abundance of overagers likely to be picked this year, and as per our draft, I believe only 15 goalies were selected.

Here's a bunch of useless stats for everyone in this thread.

The player selections for this draft started May 4th and the draft was completed on May 26th or 22 days from start to finish

With 210 picks we averaged approximately 9.5 picks per day. The average time between picks was 2.5 hours (This includes a 24hr day). If you take a 12 hr day the average time betwen picks drops to 1.25 hrs.

Is the Habs mock draft done yet? :)

[FIELDSET="McGuire's Monsters; Great Names Edition."]
1. Cliff Pu - Elegant in design, yet effective. Taken 67th overall by everyone's 3rd favorite moderator; McDNicks.

2. Alan Lyszczarczyk - The bane of jersey makers everywhere. How about I just call you Alan? Also taken by McDnicks. (....?)

3. Luke Kutkevicius - Add "Vicious" to the end of any name and it gets cooler. Unless Nancy. Taken by me....a man of questionable judgement.

HM; Joseph Raaymakers, Vladislav Sukhachyov, Otto Somppi

Feel like I had a good draft for both teams when looking at their prospect pools. Feel like Chicago did real good considering they didn't have a pick until the 3rd round. Thanks again everyone for the great draft and comments are appreciated.

Good work everybody getting the draft done so quickly. Thanks Soli for making my last couple picks. I have internet now so I'll summarize my selections:

:blues

1 (28) - C Rasmus Asplund 5'11" 176 lbs. (Farjectad, SWE)
Best European after the big 3. Great skater who stepped up when Nylander went down at World Juniors.

2 (58) - LW Boris Katchouk 6'1" 179 lbs. (Sault St. Marie, OHL)
Katchouk has been improving late in the year. I expect a big season from him next year. Great motor.

3 (90) - G Joseph Woll 6'3" 196 lbs. (USNTDP U-18, USHL)
Big goalie with mobility. Would have liked to have gotten Gustavsson in round 2 but Woll is a great consolation prize.

4 (118) - F Joona Koppanen 6'5" 194 lbs. (Ilves, FIN-JR)
Big forward who can move and make plays. Dominant at times in junior. He's my darkhorse pick. I think he could be pretty special.

5 (124) - D Ondrej Kachyna 6'3" 192 lbs. (Hamilton, OHL)
First year in North America, had to learn the language and NA game. Got better as year went on. Expect a big jump next year.

6 (207) - D Filip Dusek 6'4" 203 lbs. (Stanstead College, MPHL)
Big mobile defender who can move the puck. Not a lot of offense right now but has a lot of potential. He's a project that will take some time.

7 (208) - RW Christofer Karlsen 5'7" 176 lbs. (HV 71, SWE-J20)
Little guy who is strong, can skate and make plays. Classic case of if he was a few inches taller he would be rated much higher.

All in all a pretty balanced draft for the Blues.

Arizona is my draft winner.

Sergachev and Dineen could easily both end up as top 4 D-men. Both have great styles for moving the puck.

Jones and Pu are at least bottom sixers in this league with upside.

Vehvilainen had a rough WJCs but those are some very promising Finnish league numbers.

Even Collin Adams, although small, produced big in the USHL.

I liked their draft.

I think quite a few GMs here had a good draft overall that I'd be happy with.

Well done to everyone but I will pay for the tar and feathers if TM makes those choices for the Sabres.
