Sam Steel for the 4th time in a row. Very solid player.

I tend to value players that are closer to having an impact at the NHL level over players who have lots of potential but are a couple years away though. 2-3 years may not seem like all that much but a lot can happen developmentally in a short amount of time.

Caufield didn't even win the vote as Top prospect on the Habs board. Even some of the posters voting for him here, voted for Poehling instead on the Habs board.

What's changed?

When doing a team board, you look for who helps you sooner.

When doing a general board, you look at who has best chance at being a great player.

Bias on team boards means that a guy like Poehling who's NHL ready would go over while a general board would have Caufield go sooner because he's got a lot higher upside.

So yeah, here you don't have to consider the team nearly as much. I think voting Caufield higher here makes a ton more sense
