That sequence by Hutchinson is basically Leaf goaltending this season in a nutshell. Brutal, deflating, team-crushing bad.

I doubt you'll see a sustainable fix anytime soon with how much money is tied up with the forwards.

Hutchinson looked bad on the 4th goal but in reality, the Leafs need help on D just as much as they need a better backup.

Not sure I agree. Leafs would be looking pretty good if goaltending was swapped every game since the start of January.

Between Andersen's January and Hutchinson's...always, it's been a tough 5 weeks.

That one was definitely amateur hour from Hutch but I think it’s the only one that can be blamed solely on him. So far.

I mean Andersen saves their bacon most of the time. A very good backup who is able to steal a game would make a difference. Leafs are not going to change. They are a defensive tirefire but a fantastic backup would help them make the playoffs.

As things stand right now, only Ottawa and New Jersey have allowed more goals against than Toronto across the entire league.
