He’s 20. He hasn’t earned the trust of his coach. Which isn’t his fault; lots of young players are unfairly not played by their coaches.

Just look at Nino Niederreiter or Timo Meier. Both got buried with similar deployment as 20 year olds and appeared to be busts. San Jose kept Meier and he broke out, New York made a mistake and tradesmen Nino for a 4th liner. Oilers would be stupid to trade Puljujarvi.
