Got to hand it to the Kings organization. I thought they would start to decline as Doughty and Kopitar aged out, but they have drafted pretty well, despite not being perennial bottom dwellers, and obviously well coached. Not exactly a star studded team.

There is the danger that they will end up like the Flames though, who didn't do a deep rebuild (just as the Kings haven't), so the competitive window ends up being shorter.

The Kings have a somewhat similar build to Vegas in terms of being a depth team that is able to roll four quality lines. What folks are forgetting that the Kings were bitten hard by the injury bug the last couple of years. Only now are they healthy and starting to play towards the top of their abilities.
