This is an exact example of why you should never tank for picks. People **** on Vancouver free not blowing up and collecting picks. Why would they want to turn out the the oilers? Outside of McDavid the team has no identity

Eh. It hasn't worked for Edmonton, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Considering Pittsburgh and Chicago own six of the last nine Cups, that's actually proof that it does work.

In Detroit's case, I honestly think if they got a player like Dahlin, they wouldn't be far off from contention again. They're in pretty good shape with young forwards. They're absolutely morbid with defenders, though.
