Why did the Hawks sign Scott to a 2 year deal back in 2010?..

They didn't. They signed him to 1 year in 2011 because he was cheap and they were against the cap.

Because they had cap issues and needed to fill the roster with cheap bodies. Once that situation worked itself out they couldn't dump him fast enough so that we could fill that role with someone useful.

It was for the 2011 season, obviously. They needed a body and he was cheap. That was it.

Looking more to me like the Hawks are sluggish/unmotivated than the Sharks being all that good tonight. Niemi having a surprisingly good night given his stats vs the Hawks. Not a lot of quality chances from Hawks tonight. Need a spark.
