I was expecting a big lumbering perimeter player with a wicked slapper when we drafted him.... sort of like Laine. He's not like that at all.

Completely forgot about Virtanen all season until now. I thought this was his breakout season?

The kid is only 21 and is getting the development he needs. Not relied on for goals but just learning the ropes and getting some time with the Sedins. He may not get many points, but he's a serviceable bottom six player and he'll hopefully develop further once he gets a bit older.

He has been improving. This was his best game back so far, and was looking a lot more like the Parise of old. He got a goal but he also contributed a lot in ways that didn't show up on the score sheet. He looks better now than he did last season. I forgot what a tenacious forechecker he can be.
