He was eligible to be hit cleanly. He wasn't eligible to be hit in the knees.

How do you figure? Players with their heads down do not become prime targets, or more deserving. In fact, that sort of thing gets the hitter suspended super-extra-fast.

Its hockey 101 to keep your head up specially when your at center ice with the puck geezz...

That's to avoid what Scott Stevens would do to Lindros. Keeping your head up isn't to prevent a dirty clip.

No ones said it was intentional to injure. How does that change the outcome? All that's being said it was a brutal hit because ones like that have ended careers. Clipping penalties exist for a reason.
