Prospect Info: HF Mock Draft 11th Overall

greetings Flyers fans, I've thought a cool idea for this draft would be to do a mock draft by going through each team forum in order of there pick in the first round and poll who they would take. whoever gets the most votes gets picked. and is taken off the list for the next team. with the 10th overall pick Dallas took Wennberg with the other results just below. I'm hoping that by going through each team's forum I would get a better idea of who there team might select since those fans should know the most about there teams, so given the circumstances who would the Flyers select 11th overall?

after I go through all 30 picks of the first round I will post the results in the prospect section.

Hard to say what we'll do, but we are deep at center so people are thinking we'll draft a D-man. Obviously it all depends on who is still available though.

You're misunderstanding the premise here.

By this thought experiment-- Nurse is still on the board-- and you clearly select Nurse.

Pretty much this. I don't expect nurse to be around at 11. As we can see with the other 10 picks though, there is a chance a player could "fall" to us.

I can honestly see it. Every single season mock draft has usually the same players going top 10. Every single season though there is a guy or 2 ranked 10-20 ish who goes higher due to a team liking him more. That causes these players to drop.

Not only that but if just one or two players are selected earlier than they thought it throws off other teams. A lot of teams just assume other guys will be off the board by the time they pick so they don't even bother putting much thought into them. For example, say someone like Monahan were to be skipped over by teams in the 5-8 range because a couple guys go higher than expected. Teams outside of the top 10 probably assume he would be gone well before they get to pick and end up taking someone they put more time into scouting.

Pulock = Sheldon Souray?

I don't know. I picked Nurse simply because of his skating. Plus, I like his nastiness and am intrigued by what he could develop into. I don't want a guy who just has a good shot, Kurtis Foster has a good shot.

Incidentally, thanks for starting this multi-board thread, DeMo. It is indeed an original idea. I am shocked by the results so far, though, especially Monahan at 5th, Ristolainen at 8th, Shinkaruk 9th and Wennberg 10th.

The only one Im surprised about is Wennberg since I see him as a 15-20 pick. Other ones, to me, look normal.
