Hughson acting like they were a powerhouse is not reflected by the stats. One 96 point season, one 88 point season and that's basically it.

Remember that was before 3pt games. 96 points was 4th overall and was better than any team in the Adams and Norris divisions. 88 points was 6th overall and would have been 1st in the Norris and 2nd in the Patrick. Instead, they were 3rd in the Smythe that year.

Also remember that there were fewer teams - being in the Smythe, 20% of their games were against Calgary and Edmonton.
