We will be updating the first post as more information comes out this way we do not have to go through pages upon pages of information to find out the latest on Hank.

Hey lets keep talking about the injury here...

“@NYRangers: #NYR INJURY UPDATE: Following an exam & consultation with specialists, Henrik Lundqvist has been cleared to return to practice with the team”

@NYRangers: Henrik Lundqvist has been medically cleared to resume practicing.

Mod Note: Lets not turn this into another Lundqvist vs Talbot discussion. Want to talk about Talbot? Go here!

Thank You!

Can we keep the first post of this thread updated with just info? Sometimes its difficult to sift through everything said to find a tweet or so, especially on a phone/work machine.

Put some of the more recent info that I was able to find on the injury, anything else comes up we will update it.

Not sure if this is relevant or not. I feel like I've seen this, so IDK if its old or something.

NHL has this on their videos posted yesterday

He might be done for the season, because God hates me.

There is still a lot of time left in the season. He only needs about 5 games to be in prime condition. I have a feeling we aren't going to hear anything until he is about to start. Thank god Talbot has gone Hank mode in the last couple of games. If anyone told you that we would have had the record we have if Hank got injured for a prolonged amount of time would you have believed it then? It'll all be fine.

3/11/15 | 7:50PM: Darren Dreger said on NBCSN that Henrik Lundqvist:

“that is the hope of the Rangers that he is allowed to come back healthy in the regular season so that he can get his game to the level of Henrik Lundqvist going into the playoffs but there is absolutely no guarantee of that.”

For more on Lundqvist’s injury, click HERE.

Dreger adds, “the expectation is that he will be medically cleared but in the moment he hasn’t been and the doctors haven’t given him full clearance for contact in practice which means that he is not taking pucks above the waist at this moment. Very sensitive issue and injury and the New York Rangers aren’t entirely sure. Clearly they are very hopeful that he will be able to go near the end of the regular season and in time for the playoffs but they are waiting for clearance from the doctors.”
3/11/15 | 11:03PM: Darren Dreger said the following on the NBCSN Post game show following the Rangers win, “the priority is getting him back as healthy as possible, as soon as possible. In a perfect world, Henrik would return to the Rangers with a handful of games to get ready for the post season but they don’t control the timeline.”

Dreger adds, “He needs to be medically cleared by NYR doctors so that he can return to full contact practice and be allowed to take shots from the waste above but that hasn’t been the case yet. There is probably more imaging required before they can declare him fit enough to advance to that position and practice and his return but they are very anxious to get him back before the playoffs.”

Seems to still be very unclear how long it will be.

Not a grammar nazi, but I started twitching when I read waist misspelled "waste."

And yes, the gopro footage is old. I think they said as much in the broadcast, but that was taken around the all star break I'm pretty sure. 3 or 4 other NHL stars did the same type of helmet mounted footage.

Not sure if no news is good news here. Perhaps, it's because the team is playing so well that they don't feel the need to provide updates. If the risk of stroke is still there then all bets are off that he comes back for the POs.

Dreger doesn't have any inside info on the Rangers, this just sounds like him basically summarizing what we already know

The irony is that we've all been saying for years this team would collapse without Lundqvist. Only fitting that the first time he gets injured is when we're icing the best roster we've had in years.

Since Hank has been here, we've never had a backup goaltender as good as Cam Talbot. Consider us lucky to be in that position.

We don't win that game last night without his performance.

I find that no specificity in what kind of shots is a little ambiguous. It might not be "long" but until he is cleared medically he won't take many high shots or anything really "intense" IMO. We don't even know if the vascular risks have been reduced or gone yet.
