If you go back and look a those old threads alot of our posters got it more right than wrong lol except when it seemed like a bunch of people really wanted Scroeder at 33. Props to Avsboy who was the only one who wanted ROR at 33 while everyone else wanted Shore and Roussel

Also what some folks thought of Tboobs being drafted where he was

haha Bender really disliked Barrie but amazing call on Vatanen. Props to bender on that one.

He absolutely roasted Barrie

I wasn't a fan of drafting two of the same defenseman right after each other, but I have learned over the years to never question a Kelowna Rockets defenseman.

Barrie, Edler, Gorges, Hannan, Keith, Myers, Regehr, Schenn, Souray, and Weber are some of their NHL alumni as defenseman. They're a factory up there

Hehe yeah, I certainly wasn't a fan of Barrie's back then. I've long since admitted my mistake and I love him now for sure. :)

I freely admit that I have a harder time with 2nd generation players, since I really believe that their road to get to where they are, is in most cases, made easier because of who they are, in my opinion. It's not always the case but a lot of times it is. So those players really need to win me over moreso than 'Joe Nobody'.

You can't win them all but you can hope to be more right than wrong.

Tyson Barrie? I'm not a fan of that pick.

edit - He is in a great program in Kelowna. I just can't see him being good enough defensively to play in the NHL.

Quite frankly. Looks like I was right......

Good pick though.

Roy confirmed this morning that Alan Hepple is the guy running the Avs draft. He said after the draft, in the offseason, they will evaluate the position and see if they need to make a new hire.

Holy cow, just googled him. Looks different with hair. Everyone would recognize him from our drafts.

Roy is biting off a lot. Better start chewing or he will choke.

It may just be an issue with every one being on the same page or values...
His leaving does not mean he failed...
It super hard to judge the draft because the unknowns after.. ie injuries right fit personal issue, can anyone remember V Wolski, omg there is a guy with wasted talant..

Not sure IMO what this means but having a management team, if you want to broaden that definition to include scouting that has shared values is always a key.. its the unity thing.

I am curious to see who the new hire would be should we choose to go in that direction.

It's not like Roy would let a head scout run the draft. Avs head scout is the Greg Sherman of head scouts.
